The video camera they gave me at work has what looks like hard water spots all over the front of the wide angle lens. It reminds me of the hard water spots on glasses right out of the dish washer. The lens is taken off and dry after each trip. It is only used in fresh water. It looks like there is some sort of coating on the lens. Any suggestions on how to clean off these spots?

scubaskipper,

Most wide angle accessory lenses do have an anti-glare coating on the front glass. Water-spotting can occur from saltwater corrosion that eats into the coating. Always clean accessory lenses with freshwater and wipe completely dry with a soft non-abrasive cloth. The only way to eliminate the spotting is to remove the lens coating completely. It will take a little effort (elbow grease) to rub off the coating with polish and a soft cloth. We sell Novus plastic polish which could be used for this purpose: IKELITE Travel Accessories
