Hey, I am a student in Holland working on a research project. I am trying to develop a lens to wear underwater, while swimming, snorkeling and diving(!), as a replacement of the ancient old dive mask.
I would very much like to know, just how many divers are interested in using a lens instead of a mask; hence the following questions:

How many dives do you make on average annually?

… dives

Would you use a lens which gives you perfect vision underwater, instead of a dive mask, considering that:

  • You are just as likely to lose this lens as a dive mask or goggles
  • Your eye is protected from the water (the water has no contact with your eye)
  • You can still see perfectly in air if you wear one
  • The lens is a one-time purchase (you don't have to buy new ones after a specific period as with regular lenses)
  • your regulator/snorkel also covers your nose

YES NO I DON’T KNOW

You would help me extremely much! Thank you! :D

Have you ever done a mask drill in cold water? It sucks and hurts, so I wouldn't want to have my face and eyes exposed like that.
