Valerie van Heest, Robert Olson, Victor Worst, Alec Peirce, Robert Croft, Jeff and Gary Davison will be featured at the legends event. Valerie is a member of the women divers Hall of Fame. The shipwreck hunter and award winning author will appear with her father Robert Olson. Olson, along with Jeff and Gary Davison, will share the story of DACOR, (Davison Corporation). Gary and Jeff Davison are sons of Sam Davison, Jr, founder of DACOR.

His underwater photography for National Geographic has included the following documentaries: The harp seal’s struggle in frozen waters, the decrease in the world’s fisheries, the planet’s last remaining pristine coral reefs, the plight of the right whale, threatened sharks in the Bahamas, and squids. Also appearing is Paul Lewis, National Geographic Marine Conservation Photographer.

There will be a musical special engagement sponsored by Vintage Double Hose starting at 7:00 p.m. Saturday. Professional musician Gary Reece will perform on the main stage in his first performance since retirement. Reece lists album title credits as “For The Sake Of The Songs” and “Safe Harbor”.

Included are Saturday raffles for Belize, Blackbeard's Cruise, and Grand Bahama Island trips, along with the grand prize, a trip to SunBreeze Suites on Belize.

Held annually in Bowling Green, Ohio, United States, since 2006, the International Legends of Diving has attracted notable diving legends such as Nick Icorn, Alec Peirce, Zale Parry, Dr. Sam Miller, Dr. A. Jose Jones, Dave Woodward, Robert Croft, Dottie Frazier, Dr. John Clement, Ollie Ferguson, Ben Rose, Neal Watson, John Englander, Nick Rolle, and Dan Orr.

These legends of diving have shaped the history of diving and helped inspire others to ensure its future. The first offshore event was held in the Caribbean on Grand Bahama Island in 2009 when 12 legends were honored. Since then the event has been held two times annually in Bowling Green, OH the first weekend in August and offshore in April. Jeff Rice, principal of both Portage Quarry and the ILD, is helping to capture the history of diving and present these legends to the world.

The weekend is filled with presentations, scuba diving events, over $10,000 in contests and raffles, ceremonies, movies and swap meet.
