Hi guys. I'm new to the board and to diving with a grand total of seven dives under my belt - 4 in Whitestar Quarry, Ohio for my open water - 2 in Cozumel and 1 in Grand Cayman for pleasure. I've been looking for a regulator and am considering the aqua lung legend LX or LX supreme. I might be able to get a pretty good deal on a LX supreme. Whitestar was about 50 degrees when I dove it and I don't plan on getting in any colder water anytime soon. Just in case though is there any disadvantage other than price with going with the supreme over the regular LX? Thanks.

No disadvantages. The only differences between the 2 models are:
- The LX Supreme is adjusted to meet European cold water standards. This adjustment is actually just a half turn on a screw and can also be done on the regular LX.
- The LX Supreme has a lip shield. Some like it, personally I don't care for it too much. Anyway it is easily removed and also available as an option on the regular LX.
- The LX Supreme has a titanium ring and the snowflake logo.

I personally use the LX Supreme and consider it the best allround regulator in the world.

I agree I use the LX Supreme and it's great! Hey Scuba Ron I have been thinking about mounting the first stage upsidedown on my tank to make it more streamline will that effect performance? The way it sticks up above the yoke currently causes it to get grap kelp quite often.

I was talked out of the LX Supreme by the LDS owner and bought the Legend LX. As soon as money allows, I plan to buy another one so that I don't have to change hoses all the time to go from doubles to singles.

The Legend LX has given me no problems and I have used it for twenty dives in the Caribbean and probably sixty in cold water down to 36 degrees F. I especially love the way that it breathes very easily at depth.

You might want to consider this and spend the extra money on something else. But, not having tried out the LX Supreme, I won't say don't buy it. I will say that I consider my Legend LX to be more than adequate (top-notch, in fact) for any diving that I have done and can't say enough good about it.
