We configure our left and right posts in a way that guarantees redundancy in breathing and buoyancy.
In the case of a left post failure (assuming it has backup reg, SPG and dry suit), we lose the dry suit inflation. It's not a problem for buoyancy, but it is a problem if we need to get deeper in order to get out.
How do you deal with this? If with a stage it's not uncommon to have an extra dry suit hose on that reg, but if only with a twinset, then the only hose available would be the wing's inflator. I have never attempted to disconnect it underwater and connect to the dry suit and although most caves I've dived get deeper on the way in, not all are like that and it got me thinking. I think some exercises are in order this coming weekend.
