I'd like to learn to service my regs. I have the tech manuals, but would like to learn to do this from something other than trial and error. The PADI equipment class is useless as they don't cover the first stage in any detail.

I had a buddy, now in CA that offered to teach me, but alas, Rick is gone! :(

I don't know anyone who currently services their regs other than the guys at the LDS who would be HIGHLY unlikely to want to teach this to people who will then go do it themselves.

Any ideas?

If you can do a brake job with the instructions from a Chiltons or a shop manual, you should be able to do a regulator with similar documentation. I've never tackled a Zeagle reg, but I could probably talk you thru your Scubapro 1st if it is a piston model. I'm sure you will find others on the board who will do the same with your Zeagle and Oxycheq regs.

www.airspeedpress.com and www.scubatools.com both have some manuals that are great references. The latter has tools. There are few people around that do teach classes - I saw a thread a while back for a class back east. Might do a search to find something. Like you I am in the same boat. Have the info but would not mind taking a class.
