My Oceanic Excrusion BCD bladder has a leak. It is a 1/4" cut/tear. Can this be patched? Do I need to replace the whole bladder? Will Aquaseal do (my dive shop suggested this)? The cut is in the bottom 1/4" of the bladder and does not gernerally interfere with my dive (unless I invert myself for long periods, which I don't tend to do) but I do feel it is a safety issue and want it fixed. Thanks in Advance.

I had a small hole, maybe an 1/8 inch at the top of my bc which air poured out of! I bought some black aquaseal and tried it and it worked like a champ, and it's barely visible. Now since you have a tear rather than a hole you make want to have it stiched first to reinforce the tear. I'm sure a shoe repair place could do this for you cheap. Than Aquaseal it for good measure. I'm sure you'd be happy with the outcome.

Another product you could try would be a generous amount of 3M Marine Adhesive Sealant. Put something behind it so you don't glue the bladder to its own back wall and then just be generous with the stuff. I've repaired my Zeagle's polyurethane bladder with it with success! They sell this stuff in boat shops and online. Mostly for sealing areas of boats and inflatable boat repair. Works great!
