Have just watched The Big Blue. What an amazing film. Can't talk highly enough off it. Wright down to the wee tear in my eye at the end, must have been some salt water causing a bit of a sting. Anyone else seen it for the first time lately. Or has anyone been a fan of it over the years. Great stuff, one to watch over and over i think. You can get it dirt cheap from Amazon.

A diving classic, that has unfortunately lead to the death of many illadvised copycats. I personally know three people that have died as a direct result of seeing this film, taking up apnea pushing the limits without training and supervision and drowning.

Great film though, I have had dogs called Jaque and Enzo, and the first dive shop I worked for in thailand was named after the movie.

Wow now that's scary. Am pretty interested in free diving myself, but long before i saw the film. Is something i am going to try in the future at some point, but not without the training and the supervision. Got one dog myself, used to have 2 until a few months back. Got a mad springer spaniel called Jay. His father, jess, was the only dog i have ever seen swim down to the bottom of the river to lift the stones i used to throw in for him. Now thats free diving. Miss that big dog. God only knows what he woulod try to do if he saw me doing a descent as he sat on the shore.
