We just went through beat the subject to death on this thread: http://www.scubaboard.com/showthread.php?t=121884
...so let's not re-hash it here. People in the other thread wondered "who was winning" and my tally showed more people in the middle than at the extremes. I wanted to verify with a poll. We all seem to love them anyway...

So, please just answer the poll. If you wish to leave comments on the stupidity of me creating another thread on the subject, critique my answers, correct my grammar -go ahead. But PLEASE leave the LDS vs online comments in the other thread. No use rehashing what we've already gone through less than 24 hours ago...

Thanks.

<edit:>
What the poll should have read:
#1. I buy soley to support my LDS
#2. I buy soley based on price.
#3. Price is important, but I also consider the value of buying from my LDS and am willing to spend a little more to buy there.
</edit>

I find a great value buying from my LDS. If I have a problem with anything I buy from them I get fast service. If it keeps me from diving they always let me use any of their gear for free until I get mine back.

This is just like waving a red flag at a bull, of course people are going to comment all over again and we end up with another dead horse. sigh.

Options aren't right. I buy online a lot. But I buy from my LDS, too. I won't get ripped off by my LDS, but I've bought all sorts of things from them...

If there were a "both" option, that would be me, and I imagine the majority of people.

Buy divegear?

I saved tons of money by spending thousands to become an instructor so I get "free" stuff :)

I believe that'd be option #3?

Not at all...I don't play that game of let me pay you more than I should just to support the LDS...if online beats them, I buy online. But I buy from LDS for convenience or when their price is genuinely fair. Your options only reflect the two extremes, and then the type who will pay too much....but only a certain amount too much to buy from LDS. It doesn't have an option for people who will buy from LDS or online whichever is fair or suits their needs.

In other words, those of us who don't let the politics of the dive industry enter the decision...

Hear here...

And it's not always about the price... Think value-added service!
