I want to mount my LCD monitor in a case above my video housing because It would be way to big to go inside the 4" tube. So I was thinking of what I could use for an enclosure. The best thing I have found is using one of the Otterbox.com cases with a clear lid because they are rated to 100'. Anyone do something like this? Anyone have any other suggestions for a cheap housing? I could make one but then the $$$ go way up.

The over all dem are 5.25 x 4.25 x 1.5. but the screen is a 4 inch so about 3 x 2.5 for the screen. Im thinking whatever I do I will have to remove it from the orginal enclosure. I just hope the board is no to big. I will not have it until next week I hate waiting for ups.

i also have the same idea , get a otto box with clear lid, drill a hole side of the box and plug in the a water tight gland.. and u done..

Another possiblity is the "1960 Instamatic" type case which you laminate out of layers of acrylic plastic, with the front window/top sealed with a flat rubber gasket and held together by screws. These are popular with the RB crowd for instrumentation, are pretty easy to make and very rugged. However they are not easily opened and closed to turn things on and off.

I think thats a good looking screen. I think the otter box is by far the least expensive choice I have found yet, but may not be the best. What are you going to use for a battery pack?

I was thinking of using this battery pack holder with some NiMH 2300 mah AA's.
