Hi, buddies, I just joined yesterday. I am having my next dive trip at Layang Layang (from May 21st to May 28th), can any of you who have been there share some of your experience with me? What was good, what was bad...etc. Especially if you have been there at about the same time of the year, what did you see?

Looking forward to hearing from you !!

cheers

hello there

i will be there on the 23rd of may till 29th. i have heard from a friend that was there a couple of weeks ago and the condition there were great, infact they have hammerheads sightings last week, so i am keeping my fingers crossed. Expect currents in every dive.... visibility is good too....well, just pray the conditions stayed the same....hope to see you there!....

Hi, Wais81,

too bad I only got to read your message just now otherwise we could have met up there. thanks for the info. In fact, I had such incredible luck on the 2nd day of my trip - 2 sightings of hammerheads in two consecutive dives. On the 8:00am dive, we dropped into the blue and within 2 mintues, at about 25 m, a 3M+ scalloped hammer came to check us out. It came so close that it filled up the wholescreen of our 27mm wide-angle. On the second dive at 11am, at about 22 meters, the "ding-ding" from the DM got our attention and we saw blur shadows of a big school of hammer at about 35 M. Two of us turned on our turbo-charger and within about 1.5 mins, we caught up to the hammers. we were only like about 7-8 meters from them. We knew it is a big school but didn't know there were more than 70 of them until we count them from the video pan-shot later. The rest of the dives was also great except the Yellow-margin trigger and the Titan trigger fish were everywhere and extremely aggressive. The only thing bad was one of our buddies got the "bend" and was treated with oxygen for almost 2 hours....

How's your dive trip?
