Layang Layang recovered from crown of thorns infestation?

I read a bunch of posts written about a year ago about divers in Layang Layang seeing coral reefs destroyed by crown of thorns infestations. We are thinking about going somewhere in May and was wondering if any one knows the current situation - has it recovered? Any other dive site recommendations for this time of year around the area?

If you have not tried Sipadan, Mabul or Kapalai yet, May is also a good season there.
