This is somewhat advanced for me, so a basic question. Do I have to update my dive computer as well as the dive log software on my PC?

No. In fact, I don't believe you could update the firmware in the dive computer even if you wanted to.

In other words, you just need to download the software for the PC..

Are you asking about the Oceanlog software, or the firmware in your PP2? They are two completely different animals.

1.0.6 sounds like a very old version of Oceanlog.

No, you do not need to update your PP2 firmware to use the latest version of Oceanlog. All fw revisions of the PP2 work with the current version of Oceanlog.

1.0.6 was for the Oceanlog software. I got on the web site, downloaded the latest and have installed it
