Any ideas for last minute trip for March 7-12? WOuld love a liveaboard, but they all seem to be full week...

Thanks!

What a newbie post! Anywhere I can get fast from Baltimore, MD, probably Caribbean?
Thanks

I can't think of any liveaboards with mid-week departures in the Caribbean. Most are Sat-Sat.

Grand Cayman is 6 hrs. each way - it's some of the better diving you'll find in the Caribbean. It's also pricey there. It's a pretty small, very safe island with diving in close proximity to the resorts, airport, downtown etc. so you don't waste a lot of time getting to your destination. Sunset House might be one option - they have daily rates - but they're pretty high since you're still in high season. Or stay at one of the hotels on Seven Mile Beach - dive operators pick up from most of them. Comfort Suites is another - across the street from the beach so slightly cheaper. Ambassador Divers is on-site. Flight seems to be reasonable:

You can also get to Provo - Turks & Caicos in about the same timeframe - for $200 more. It's also really excellent diving. And equally pricey. We did the Explorer so IDK about shore based options.

Or Cozumel, the flight is about $860 but everything else is cheaper. Delta thru Atlanta looks like about 6+ hrs. Friends stayed at the Villablanca recently, it was reasonable, has 3 affiliated dive operators and there was a shallow shore dive there. Not in town though and too far to walk from what they said.

We are heading to Cozumel the exact same dates, let me know and maybe we can dive and hang out.. We are always looking to add divers to our expanding group. My friend is coming from the DC area via Atlanta on the 7 th. Cozmel is a great " weekend dive trip".

Liveaboards in Caribbean are usually 7 days for a reason... travel to and from costs for guests, fuel cost to get to best diving. Put those together and it would be too expensive to only do 4-5 days for only 2-3 days of diving.

If you do want to do a liveaboard anywhere, plan on a full week, arrive at destination the day before if possible to ensure your luggage makes the boat with you, then dive dive dive!
