I have no idea what Sampdriver just said.

I know they use paired, calibrated lasers with camera equipment to size fish for surveys. In fact, when used with stereo cameras, you can gather all kinds of swimming speed, swimming kinetics, size data without catching, tagging, or harming the fish in any way.

I kinda hate to admit this but I got one as a pointer and upon noticing the fishes reaction to it I had a ball watching little fish "attacking" it as I moved it along coral.

Do you run a chance of damaging your eyes by using one? I am thinking that in water there is a bigger chance of accidentally reflecting a beam into someone's eyes.
