Land base diving reccomendations

Hi,

I am looking for land based dive shops that would be on a local island. I will be spending 3 weeks in the maldives and hope to find somewhere we can also shore dive without a DM.

We love macro photography but also open to bigger animals. Please share your suggestions.

There really is not a lot of shore diving in the Maldives because of currents, distance of reef from shore, and the unhealthy state of most of the reefs. I stayed on Dhangethi island for 2 weeks a couple years ago and dove with South Ari Dive center, they had a dhoni and would go out to local sites. All of the nice sites were a boat ride away and deep/had significant current. Shallower stuff and places without current are bleached and dead.
