Here's a short video from last weekend showing the entry from shore when diving the wreck of the Hesper in Silver Bay, Minnesota. Some concrete steps have been added to the breakwater to make it somewhat easier to climb as the result of the work of the GLSPS, and they do help. Between the wave action and the physically demanding climb over the breakwater, I would characterize this as a moderately difficult shore entry.

For discussion and as an example for divers who have only dived from boats or in benign conditions from shore.

 
Nicely done. It looks like a place with a high potential for injuries enroute to the water.
 
tell the camera man to never video in portrait again! do you dive Superior dry or wet?
 
At first I thought, "this video is making a good case for sidemount." By the end I was thinking, "I don't know. Putting the tanks on my back, having 2 hands free, and only having to climb over all those rocks once does seem like a good idea..."
