Sunday, December 27, the Chablais firefighters intervened on the beach of Saint-Disdille in Thonon-les-Bains in order to rescue a 56-year-old diver victim of cardio-respiratory arrest.
It was 10:15 a.m. this Sunday, December 27 when the Chablais firefighters were called to intervene on the beach of Saint-Disdille in Thonon-les-Bains.
A 56-year-old man was in serious condition following illness during a dive in Lake Geneva. " The victim got out of the water then fell into cardio-respiratory arrest on a boat ", inform the emergency services. Once on the beach, those present began the cardiac massage before the firefighters arrived on the scene and in turn tried to save the diver.
The victim was helicoptered to Geneva hospital where he died.
He is a member of the Underwater Club of Léman, an association located at the port of Rives in Thonon, who made a usual scuba outing in the lake.
An investigation has been opened to determine the exact causes of the tragedy.
