My 2 year old is looking through my scuba training magazine and is looking at the Cayman Islands ad.

One of the small shots is a statue of a female underwater and he is infatuated by it. I seem to recall the name of it is the Lady of the Deep, but I cannot seem to find any info on it.

Can anyone help with photos or a description/link?

Thanks,

Thanks for the links...looks like one day we may have to make a trip to see her!

I think I will continue to have him call her "The Lady of the Deep". He really likes that name right now. I will let him know her real name, but I don't think he is going to change his mind for now.

Thanks for the help.

Knavey, that's kind of a cute story :-)

Here's my friend Lynn 'chatting' with Amphitrite...

Sunset house is a nice, easy shore dive and the Mermaid is a good focal point for photos.
Interestingly most of the statue is covered with a fine layer af algae. Except for 2 spots that seem to be rubbed clean.
Any guesses as to the polished parts ? :D

Yuppers...he has the 2 year old accent that makes it even better than cute. The ad that he looks at is in several magazines. Its the one with a bunch of smaller pictures with the Lady of the Deep towards the bottom. Occasionally one of the magazines will crop the ad and leave her out. He does NOT like that!

But the good thing about that ad is that he knows coral, and eels, and sharks and scuba divers and all sorts of other words that only a diver would love!
