I am looking to go to La Paz in May. Wondering if anyone has stayed in any of the hotels that have Dive ops located on the premises and if not, can you recommend anyone. Cozumel Club seems expensive to me but looks like a pretty nice and clean Dive Facility. Thanks in advance!

I took a group to Club Cantamar a couple of years ago. They have their own dive operation on site. Diving was different than the Caribbean with lots seals, dolphin, whales, mantas etc. One of the seamounts we dove had more green morays than I've ever seen. They were so abundant that there may be 2 or 3 sharing the same crevice in the rocks.

As always, make sure to test your Nitrox fill before your dive and keep an eye on your tanks to make sure they get on the boat.

Friends:

I lived & dived & worked in La Paz for 10 years until last summer, right now I am in Mexico's atlantic coast (Veracruz) and still missing La Paz badly, maybe coming back this summer. The diving in La Paz is superb, I believe it is the best diving scenario in México, my opinion anyway!
There a several dive shops, some very good, some regular some bad. I recommend one because it is the one I was working with and they have relaxed environment, good prices, good fellas, fast boats, ... marlin adventures... www.marlin-adventures.com , also you can try "baja expeditions" for top class service.. if you have questions about dive shops or anything .... PM me, I worked for almost every dive shop in La Paz area and I still can give advice on city, food, transportation issues, etc etc ..
