I'm a Fish!
At about 6:00 am the palapa roof went up in flames. A witness claims three teenage boys were seen lighting the palapa with a lighter.

No one was hurt and there was no damage to the interior, so they should have a new palapa built and reopen by mid-week.

Christi posted this on the D2D forum yesterday. Just a bit of island news to start the week off. I guess they also have houligans in paradise. ;)

OMG...........not La Choza!! One of our favorites. Too bad, but glad no serious damage to the building.

Yes, and it's partialy reopened right now. Looks like a new roof for the east side.

adios don O

At least no one was hurt.
I like it there, glad to hear it was only minor damage. But still, a darned shame that it was set on purpose.

Just drove down Rosalo Salos this morning and got back in to Louisiana tonight. I must have been looking the other way this morning and just missed it.

Apparently the teenagers have not seen the local jail with its flow through skylight air conditioning system.
