Ok...so this means my next trip is going to have to be for over a month just to satisfy the 'ol pallet

Awesome. So glad to see they re-opened. Too bad Rob isn't still the chef. Is he still on island?

Went again last night because we were craving the Tequila shrimp saute.

Had the Grilled chicken breast with pistachio mint pesto served with couscous with dried fruit, and grilled veggies...OUTSTANDING! $150 pesos

Also tasted the Penne Pasta dish which is a vegetarian dish...delicious!

Got back from Coz yesterday afternoon, and had no idea La Cocay had reopened! Bummer!! I guess we'll have to wait till next trip ..... good to know that much of the menu (and staff!) has remained intact .... it's been nearly 2 years since we were there last, but we still talk about the great meals!

After working in partnership at Palm Beach (Cozumel, just north of San Francisco Beach), Chef Rob decided to leave the island. Word has it he scored a position on a private yacht as their Chef Extraordinaire. A nice guy, he will be missed.

Thanks for the feedback. My buddy and I closed the restaurant with him and a bottle a while back. It was a night to remember . . . errr. . . sort of remember. I think of it every time I hear Ella Fitzgerald or Louie Armstrong. He will be missed.

Tim, hope you were not diving the next day

Nope. Last day in Coz. No reason to go to bed early or not consume.
