I am looking for a replacement pod for a stingray camer housing. The travel pack was purchased new in about 1996 or so. I slipped in cozumel at the dive shop tile ramp by the wash tank and found out rather quickly I had troubles on the first dive. the pod had a very tiny nick on the corner. it oblonged the pod housing ever so slightly. light and motion does not make parts any more. backscatter in montery, ca. offered $400 credit trade in for the good pod. bringing my total for my mistake to $1256 + tax. I can use my old lights and cables I'm told. guess I should have gotten to this repair as soon as I returned from my trip (5 or so years ago) soo..... any leeds would be helpful. I tried ebay and scaned the web under light and motion, stingray and sunray light system. I justed learned that L & M now has the new pods on back order. I leave for truk on april 29th.

Slammer,

Could you describe the pod (size, connectors, shape of batteries) ? I've got some older pods I upgraded from.

HUNTSTER, These pods can hold two batteries per pod. switch between a or b battery at rear of pod. The full length of a stingray housing and about 1 1/2" wide and 2" high. The batteries are gold and black about 1/2" thick 1 1/2" wide and maybe
8" or so long. Thanks for your help

HUNTSTER, The battery was copper and black I think it is the copper top brand. the batter charger has 5 flat metal pins and 1 flat plastic pin. out put on the charger reads 13.5 volts. light and motion still has both of my pods. The charger has a pig tail that the battery plugs into.
the light connectors have three pins on a round plug about 1/2" in diam. Thanks again!

Slammer,

I'm sorry. Your description doesn't match what I've got. My pods are about 2 1/2" x 2" x 4" and each holds a "power nugget" (6 rechargable AA NiMH batteries in an L&M plastic container with the 1/2" 3 pin connector). The output is 7.2V even though my charger says 5-15 Volts (charger output always has to be more) .

Shoot me an email and we can talk more.
