I flew in to Bali on 13, scheduled to take an afternoon flight that day to Labuan Bajo.
I turn on my phone on when the plane lands in Bali and find a message from my friend saying Komodo airport has halted operations due to the volcano.
My original plan was to land in Bali, where my friend and his wife who were already in Tulamben would join me to Komodo for 5 days after which they'd do non- diving stuff and I'd do a few days in Tulamben before flying back to the UAE.
Flights have house resumed.
Needless to say, plans changed.
