Just found the answer to my electronic logbook dreams and it's freeware! If you're the least bit computer savvy, the download, unzip, transfer process is pretty simple. (Just don't do as I did at first and transfer *all* the language versions to your PDA--look for the "en" app).

The APP itself is incredibly comprehensive, very customizable, and quite intuitive. Multiple sorting scenarios. No instructions necessary if you're willing to fool around with it a bit. Works great on my Clie PEG Th-55. Totally cool!!

Here's the trial version download site:

(You'll note on the site that this is a beta version and, thus, carries some risk. But I've read numerous glowing reviews from users and it's been around for a while, so I'm willing to take the chance).

Gah!! You had to post this when I'm at work and I don't have my Palm Pilot with me :)

I'm trying to hunt down some good software for my pocket pc, but been having a hard time. Seems all the good diving apps are written for palm.

Awesome, exactly what I was looking for...thanks so much. Maria

Omicron,

I know there are protocols that "translate" palm OS apps into PC; I ran across one while tracking down the aqua divelog, but don't remember where I saw it.

Good luck,

Best,

Interesting.

I was playing around w/ the Palm Emulator for pocket pc for awhile, but i lost the files and can't dig 'em up again. The guy that was writing them got in a bit of trouble with Palm so its not too readily available anymore.q

Yep, that will work. I do a lot of work in that emulator actually. I just need one for my Pocket PC that works well :)

I too saw the Aqua DiveLog, and found there is a plugin to download directly from Suunto dive computers (I've got a Vytec and Cobra). Has anyone got some ideas on cable setups for this. . . serial for the dive computers and Irda for the Palm m505 (or proprietary palm synch)?

The serial part is OK . You may use the standard serial palm cable with an adaptor ( http://www.lammertbies.nl/comm/info/RS-232_null_modem.html ) and suunto interface (original or not).
I believe m505 has a Usb cable . Can't tell if there is a Usb X serial converter
