Hey looney birds, thought i'd come post some details on the Key Largo trip that is being planned in the Deep Dixie forum for memorial day weekend . That thread is kind of ...... long, and hard to get to the important stuff. BUT, basically there is room for 5 more people.
So here's the deal:
We have worked out a deal with Ocean Divers to do 2 boat trips on saturday, 2 boat trips on sunday at the group rate of $50 a person, and that includes your tanks and weights. We'll probably be going out on 2 boats, some of us will want to do mainly the wrecks, while some others may feel more comfortable sticking with the reefs.
We have 2 condos booked. One of them we have for friday, saturday and sunday night, and we are paying for it, while we get the second condo on sat. and sun. night for free. Right now, splitting up the cost among 5 people that will share the condo, it is $25 per night, per person. That will obviously go down if more people come with, but even at $25 a night i don't think you can beat that. The occupancy for each condo is 10, but after the first night we can split up into the 2 condos and i'm sure we'll have more space.
I am planning on driving to Auburn to meet up and ride with a couple of the folks from Alabama, but if we get a few folks from here maybe we can start our own carpool.
Bottom line: Lodging and diving is gonna cost you less than $300. Thats a heck of a deal for 3 nights and 8 dives. Any other questions you can PM philmottrek99and02 (howard) who has the condo booked.
