Would you recommend either/or for a newly certified junior diver? Looking for a place in the U.S. to take my 10 year old grandson on his first real dive trip!
I would. BUT, talk to the shop before and confirm the dive sites. For example, I think Wednesday morning is Christ in the Abyss for many shops. It's an easy dive and I think you have to dig into sand to go below 30'. But some shops have specific days for Spiegel Grove. NOT for a kiddo.

I would also suggest a guide. I think it's just a good idea to have another set of eyes on a young diver (says the retired instructor who took his youngster on his first ocean dive in the Keys a zillion years ago).
