Hello All

Has anyone have a good or bad info on Amoray Dive Resort in Key Largo? Looking to spend a week in the keys in early June. Any other good places to stay or boats to book trips?

We just returned from Key Largo at the beginning of February. We dove with Sea Dwellers for 3 days and stayed just steps from the boat at the Holiday Inn Resort. The rooms at the back facing the parking lot are very convenient. We enjoyed all of their employees.

My favorite is Rainbow Reef. Two boats in Key Largo and two in Islamorada, so they offer a variety of dives every day. They also have package deals with the Ramada, Holiday Inn, and Marina Del Mar hotels. Great folks.

We stayed in Key Largo in November. Stayed at the Coconut Palm Inn and dove with Crystal Clear Charters. Great dives, boats, and people that worked there.

I dove with Amoray back in '04 these were my first ocean dives so I'm not so sure if it was inexperience or what but I would rate them as my least favorite all time. I've did over 100 dives in the Caribbean and the NC coast and I remember them as being the least interested in the divers as any shop I have dove with. Maybe someone more recent can give you better info.

Cristal Clear's parent company was a real estate company (Cay Clubs) and they folded completely about six weeks ago. Cristal Clear Charters has been liquidated, the boats have been sold, etc.

ScubaBoard - Search Results (you're going to find mixed reviews on Amoray, why take the chance)

Send a PM to "speargirl" who rents townhouses at mm 100 in Key Largo. You can also search ScubaBoard for Kawama to find out more about her properties.

For the diving, Silent World Key Largo offers a five trip ticket for $250 that includes the tanks ($50/trip in the Keys is a great deal).

I agree with the comment about a low ranking.

I also dove with them on my first ocean dives (Back in 2002) I would not use them again.

I've stayed at the Marriott a couple of times and used It's a Dive. They're a little more expensive than some of the other places, but I really like the dive op, it's a great hotel, and the dive shop and boat are right there.
