Has anyone tried diving from a paddleboard?
Or even better, do it on a regular basis?

lol........-----------------------some people will never get it......

I get it! :D

I think you will find a sit on top kayak is always going to be better than a SUP. The paddle board is just not ideal for longer distance, higher speed carrying of a diver with gear.
Sure, you can get a high speed 19 foot long racing SUP, and rig it for carrying dive gear, but then it is really almost a surf ski, and only sort of a SUP :)

How do you stow gear on a paddle board?

It his easy enough to drill holes and put in bungees.....to make a sort of bungee rack for gear..even for a tank.
But the SUP really is the wrong tool for the job. Too tippy, really kind of slow in anything but very calm seas, and not ideal for snorkeling or diving.....now if that's all you have, it's another ball game--you could "make one work".

Take a racing surf ski...maybe the 19 foot variety that weighs about 35 pounds( carbon fiber), and get a sponson or pontoon for stability, and you have a platform that you can paddle at 6 miles per hour, it can easily handle 10 foot seas, and it can carry dive gear....:)
