In light of the diminishing stocks of sharks and large game fish the concept of shark derbies, big game fishing/catch and release seems antediluvian. Additionally, sometimes the fish get even.
Personally, I'd love to see these guys convert to a more sportier event - go diving and grab video footage of these guys attacking an offshore bait ball. That's a true sporting event.

From what I've heard, that's actually not that rare, sportfishing IS more dangerous that diving.

The biggest threat to large game fish is not sport fishing, it's long lining.
