Hello from toronto. I'm a new diver who is about to start the second weeek of dec. I dove before on one of those weekend deals at Dominican. Always wanted to get certified so that i can advance and now i'm doing it. Any advice from purchasing equipment to tips on advancing are appreciated. Thanks

Hello and welcome to scuba board. Welcome to the family, glad to see you found us. ~~~Babe~~~

Welcome to the board and to the wide world of the sea. As far as your question goes it is always good to start out with the basics....mask, snorkle, fins, boots. The main thing about equipment is make sure it fits. You don't want to go down with a mask that leaks, a wetsuit or skin that trickles in water. My rule of thumb for the equipment that I started out with is if I put it in my mouth or in close proximity to my body...that is what I got first. Hope this helps. Just remember fit is everything...if it doesn't fit you'll be fighting with it all the time and it won't be as enjoyable.

welcome aboard
