A group of 11 friends and I booked this last week (12/27/14 - 1/2/15) aboard the Cat Ppalu and it being my first live aboard, I was a bit anxious that everything would go off OK.

TLDR-free Review: The boat and the crew were everything we'd hoped for and the trip was an outstanding success. We had better-than-average seasonal weather (sunny with only a few spotty clouds on a couple days, no significant rain, temps in upper 70s to lower 80s). After reading endless reviews of Bahamian diving, I wasn't expecting the sites to be as good as they were. We absolutely will do this trip again as soon as possible.

I'll give more details in additional posts.

Ah, I have fond memories of the Cat from about 10 years ago. The cook was a guy who really wanted to be an engineer, but was drafted into cooking instead. This was really weird, as he was one of the finest liveaboard cooks I have ever seen. I remember him looking down at a huge platter of unbelievably good tuna/chicken/egg salads that he had whomped up for lunch one day, and he just said "I wouldn't eat it..":shakehead: We also had a marriage ceremony on a deserted island beach, with the boat captain officiating. Incredible trip.
