A few people from this board recommended Ambassador Divers in Grand Cayman. My gfriend completed her Referral program through them and I dove their charters. Jason Washington is the owner and he runs a great operation. He has two boats (a Parker and one other) and limits the number of divers to 6-8 max. For all but one day we had no more than 3 other divers! My gfriend was one of only two students during her OW dives.
They allowed me to solo dive or join their group. I made 7 dives with them in 4 days including the North Wall. Lot's of great sea life (turtles, spotted eagle rays, stingrays, moray eel, tons of fish, etc.) but the coral was definitely beat up from Hurricane Ivan. I was there 12 years ago and it was a lot more colorful. Still a great time in perfect conditions.
On our last day of diving we hit the Cracked Conch shore dive. Unfortunately someone died a few hours after we left. I have not been able to find out much information. This as you can imagine was also not a good vibe for my newly certified gfriend. I have been able to find little information. Jason (owner of Ambassador Divers) called early the following day because he knew we were going there. He wanted to make sure my gfriend was OK.
Otherwise we had a great time. Perfect weather and conditions.
