Yup
They came today. I was unsure about the size since I obviously could not try them on due to my location.

It was my hope that I could get a size that would be workable with my drysuit, 6.5 and 3mm wetsuits, allowing me to have pockets on all of them.

The shorts come in 6 sizes, a descriptoin of which can be found on the manufacterers website:
http://www.dive-xtras.com/
The site recommends getting the size group that is the next size up from your waist size, to accomodate a drysuit. My waist for pants is 34, which is about in the middle of medium, so I went for size large (range 28 to 38).

I tried them on with my 3mm and drysuit. The shorts are fairly stretchy so they do have a range of fit. With drysuit, undergarments (and a diaper), the shorts are on the snug side, but not overly so. I can't guess if the XL would be too loose. However, for the 3mm and 6.5, the fit is really nice.

I replaced the cotton waist cord with bungee and added a cord to the inside of left pocket (throught the top grommet holes) to allow me to clip off items inside for security (like a spool or SMB).

The pocket design is really nice, they hold really flat unless you open up the velcro.

Dive with them next week...

Those things seem like the would be a good idea. But there is a definite "goofy" factor about them.

Let us know what your impressions are, will you?

Booty Gaitors :D

I did try them on in the privacy of my own bedroom... and I must admit: I'm not secure enough to wear them in public... so back they went.

Oh Man,
Now you've got me self conscious...

They are well-fitting, a contrast to the other pockets I've used that fit onto the webbing and then strap to your leg. These feel like they are much more a part of you, so far anyway, haven't dove yet...

Ah come on, post some pics UP. If everyone sees you wearing em, you'll start a trend! :)

Don't know about goofy - but in my case I found the jacket-half of my Farmer John had legs way too short to accommodate proper add-on pockets so I decided X Shorts were the way to go. The local dive shop Northern Tech Diver had them in stock so I was lucky that I got to try them on first.

I've used them overtop my wetsuit (very thick neoprene!) as well as in the pool over my 2mm shorty and although admittedly there's a smidgen baggy over the 2mm, they still fit okay.

I won't dive without them now. Slate/tables/Wetnotes in right pocket, spool/SMB in left. (for me)

Yeah
As long as your wetsuit/drysuit is black, they will blend right in.

Oh dear mercy, don't tell me you can get these things in other colors?! Lime green, or please no, pink!?

I was lucky. My Zeagle Expedition GS came with a great big thigh pocket on one side and a streamlined pocket on the other side.

LOL no way dude, these are worn by (some) DIR divers so they have to conform to "rule #6" (black is cool)

Besides, I like the way both these pockets are very big when extended fully open, but they also come with velcro strips inside the "bellows" so that they seal flat when they don't need to be "big". Very streamlined that way. I have also had no difficulty opening the closure flaps while swimming, even when I'm wearing 7mm wetsuit gloves.

They only thing I'd caution about them is to be sure you take care of them - being as they're constructed from 2mm neoprene for the most part (the pockets themselves are thick vinyl-backed canvas like other pockets) they can tear or get holes punched/torn in them. Mine have a few now, but then I'm a bit of a bottom crawler and have gotten snagged a few times on razor sharp stuff......
