X-mas in July. Came home and there it was my new DSS bp/w in a brown box. Bit of background...bought the long bp lcd 40 wing and pro-fit harness.
First impression. Nice. They rigged up the bp with the harness and the wing went on in seconds. I had to spend some time adjusting the straps and uncrossing the webbing in back...Just fit me alot better with the webbing straight, kinda like an old external frame backpack. I like the dss d-ring cut from stainless, they seem alot sturdier and they stick out away from the webbing enough to clip a bolt snap easily. Lots of places to clip and configure my rig. The wings had rubber pieces that you plug into the plate and I felt this was a quick and easy way to attach the wing. The harness utilizes velcro to do major adjustment to the rig instead of having lots of excess webbing dangling.
I'm goin to be using the BP/W this saturday so luckily i'll be using it this trip to the local quarry. I'll write on my impression of this rig after it's maiden trial. This not only my first BP/W but first BCD that I've owned, I've rented probably 80% of the BCD's out there and have borrowed others.
Now to get wet and then add on all the accessories I'll need in the future...I'm liking the weight plates more and more...we'll see.
