just got my new camera and tried it out last weekend and wasnt happy with the picture i took and im sure its the user not the camera.any advise you can give me on takeing pictures underwater(settings) and any advise on maintance and care of the canon wpcd30 case? do's and dont's? thanks

The best advice? Dive often, shoot lots. You have a wonderful learning aid, with instant feedback.

Find something that you think will make an interesting photo. (For this exersize, it needs to have very limited mobility. An Anemone, Snail, or Nudibranch are ideal.) Now, use an empty 256mb card. Fill the card with shots of your subject, changing the settings each time. You can then review the meta-data of the shots you like, and memorize those settings.

I think that's way too much camera for you especially with the number of dives you have. You should give it to me. ;)
But not being an U/W photographer yet, practice would be your best bet, good luck and have fun with your new toy.

Sorry! A bit late to this one.

Please post a couple of images from your outing - ones that are almost right and maybe one or two that are very wrong but you aren't sure why.

That will let us see what you are seeing and hopefully aid us all in suggesting some things you can try for next time!

I look forward to seeing them and future shots!!
