I have been taking the IDC for the last couple of months and have finally taken and completed the IE :D . This has been the most rewarding course I have taken and it really gave me an understanding of how training a diver is not just throwing them into the water and telling them to swim around. I don't know if I will go into teaching right away but I now can when I want to go into that direction. I would recommend this course to anyone who loves a challenge, it was most rewarding!!

Congratulations Gamehunter!!! I can honestly say I know exactly what you have been through.

I would recommend getting a class under your belt so that you do it while its still fresh in your mind.

I agree. Completing the IE was a big deal for me. I did both SSI and PADI a few months apart. I also agree, teach as quickly as possible. We learn by doing. Yep, I was nervous the first couple of times but that passes. You get better and better as you teach more. Welcome to the club.

:)Now that all the paperwork has cleared (e-mail from PADI) and insurance purchased (another e-mail from the carrier) I guess that it is official and I am now an instructor. I went through the IDC and IE with Gamehunter and it was great, rewarding and gut-wrenching all at the same time. I started down this road a long time ago but life intervened and delayed me but it is completed now and I look forward to starting to teach and share my love of the water and diving.:)

Wife and I are always teaching now. Seems we never have free time. Always an OW class, Drysuit class, Rescue Class, Nitrox Class, Discover class, etc. Always something going on. I go from my 10 hour regular work shift, straight to the dive shop. Makes for long days. Not burned out by any means but this is a lot of work :0

Congratulations!!! I still vividly recall that afternoon when I realized we were done with our IE, standing on the beach with the feeling of relief and elation all mixed up at once! A great feeling!!!
