My wife and I just got back from Cozumel. Got in 6 dives with Liquid Blue. They were great. Our DM was Aristeo (sp) - nice guy, very competent. We dove on both of their 2 boats. Both were very comfortable and in great shape. 5 divers on Monday, 4 on Tuesday, 3 on Wednesday. Monday we dove Palancar Gardens (89 ft max/ 58 minutes) and Dalia (63 ft/ 69 min), Tuesday Columbia Deep (99 ft/35 min) and Santa Rosa Wall (75 ft/52 min). Wednesday Punta Sur (Devil's Throat) (127 ft/42 min) and Cederal Wall (96 ft/46 min). All tanks were steel 100s (air) except Punta Sur (steel 120) - all had very decent fills - and we needed them for all but Dalia. I left my 3mm in the dive bag all week, my wife wore her skin.
Some of the diving was mildly challenging. The swim thrus were fine but some of the currents were work. 2 of the dives we swam across 100 yd spans at about 80 ft with decent currents. The dives sure had a different feel than South Florida. The coral heads were awesome but to be honest - I think we have more life here. But the life was bigger in Cozumel. Oh - and we had the longest surface intervals (on the beach) - upwards of 90 minutes - a nice change for us.
I would recommend Liquid Blue. In fact - I can't think of a single negative. I wish we had planned another 2 days of diving...
