Im new to this board and only post a couple of times. Ive read a ton of post and replies. The first thing i do when i read something is see who wrote it and what back ground they have to base it on. Ive read a lot of good advice that has been given out here on the board but i have also read alot of things that are so far off that its funny.
Here is my thought, why cant this board have some kind of test that members can take and show there scores so when you read a post you know if the person know his sh-t or not. Just a thought

alot of things on this site are based on opinion, such as the 2.4 billion posts on why backplates with wings are so completely frickin awsome(ahem haha)

Hey mxracer let me ask you a question. If you dove to 130ft for 30 minutes on 30% nitrox and used 40% for your deco gas how long would your hang time be and what would be your pp02 at 130' and your pp02 at 20' using 40% nitrox.

Because everyone's opinion counts.

Trick question - only a stroke would use 40% for deco gas *wink*

I sent you a email tell me if i got them right. I'm in the tdi advanced nitrox deco course now. What dive shop do you use. Im from CT also. Why did you use 40% for your deco gas, I would have used 80% or 100%. The deco stop would be a lot less.

40% would be for the guys that took the deco coarse but didnt take the advanced nitrox.
If you dove that dive on air your deco stop would be 11.8 minutes longer.

I didnt even know what a stroke was until i read it on this board.

uggg....

1.) Why would you get intodeco diving without taking a class that would teach you the best way to do so (using optimal deco gases)? Does that make sense?

2.) If you were diving with EANx30% as your backgas - why bother bringing a 40% deco bottle? I could run it on V-planner too, but really what's up with that? weird scenerio

3.) While I hadn't heard the term stroke before I came on this board, I had encoutered quite a few.

4.) No offense, but your first post struck me as a bit aggrogant - you want to test other posters to see if they know what they doing, but then you post this dive as a question?

Its an internet forum, topics are up for debate and can be commented on by anyone with any skill/knowledge level. Thats one reason there are so many disclaimers on this board. You'd be foolish to go anywhere on the internet and take what you read as 100% before backing it up somewhere else, especially an internet forum.

Take everything you read here with a grain of salt. If you get information, research it further to verify whats correct.
