Jumped on the Deep Ledge 2 tank dive on JDC today. I wanted to 'scout' for lobster mini-season and was smiling the whole dive. When people ask me where are the lobsters(?) >> I just say it's not a good idea to follow behind me, I could be lost also. Conditions today were 80 degrees on the bottom, 1.5knot current, 60 foot of hazy viz and it's Shark Week on TV & in Jupiter too.

June and July are our best months for catching lionfish. They rapidly reproduce even faster as the waters warm up. Acoustical tracking studies say Lionfish don't travel sideways along the reef as much as they do vertically from deep then up to mid-reefs. So if you find a cluster, try to stay in that area and work it back and forth (east to west) for the best results. Or, bring food and bribe your captains for the best secret drops.
