Hola Cozumelinos and Cozumelinettes!
You know, CozumelRadio.net has always existed to allow those of us Cozumelhaulics to have a source for keeping in touch with the island when we are not there, thus making us all a world wide community of 'island timers'.
Keeping this in mind, our new concept for the station is to make it a "community" radio station, with not just on-island business sponsors, but also opening the sponsorships up to "mainland' (U.S. and Canadian) businesses as well and allowing our listeners to become Members of the community by making a small donation to help support the station.
Although this is a 'hobby' project and I am not taking any profit from the station, we still need a considerable amount of money to make this thing work. Music Royalties & paying for the station 'hub' are the biggest financial drain on our budget, & this is what we are mostly selling ad space and sponsorship spots for. However, we also need funds to update the website and purchase some much needed studio equipment.
Obviously, with most of our listeners being off the island, we hope to get both our on and off island advertisers and sponsors to pitch in and offer specials or discount coupons to our members. We will either handle this by e-mailing members directly these incentives, or what I really want to do is have a 'Members" page on the website where you can click onto it, log-in and get the incentives directly off the site.
