ok i'm just trying to get some info on joediveramerica.com

has anyone ordered gear from there?
do they have a good track record when it comes to getting what you order?
does anyone have any experiences with them whether good or bad?

i ask this because i'm about to order some stuff from there and get it sent to my family in the US. i live in barbados and we don't have a dive shop here that sells BC's and regs etc. i'm travelling to NYC at the end of the month so i was going to get the stuff sent to my cousin and pick it up when i go.

Should i go ahead and order from them? i really like the prices they have.

sorry i just realised that i posted this in the wrong section. didn't see general discussions.
could a mod please move this thread? thanks

I've ordered several things from them and have had a great experience each time.

Look hard at their website and try to find their customer support phone number...

they don't have one listed. So basically they don't want to have to deal with the customer before or after the sale. they just want you to click and add to cart and checkout.

I personally see no reason to order from them when they refuse to be "bothered" by customers wanting help.

There are several other vendors on this board that offer a toll free customer support number and will match or beat their prices.

Maybe where live in Barbados this isn't easy to call any US shop, but what happenes when you get to the US and your order is screwed up and you want to fix it before you travel home and Joe Diver doesn't have a phone number to get it done quickly? You'll be screwed.

My suggestion would be to spent your money somewhere that will support the customer. but that's just my opinion.

I ordered a bc from them and they substituted with an "upgraded" model. I had done my homework and I knew it was not an upgraded model and was in fact a downgraded model....many of the important points on the two bc's were different. I found JoeDiver to be extremely difficult to communicate with. They have no phone number to call !!! And their e-mail communication was terrible!!! And when they would answer my e-mails they tried to defend their decision to ship the wrong bc. I say beware the seller with no phone number!!!
