Who all is planning on going up to jocasse this sunday. I tried to get in touch with Bill with off the wall charters, and I got no answer from him. I still plan on going up anyway and doing a couple of shore dives if people are interested in joining me. I'll probably leave the house around 8:00, so that will put me up their around 10:30. Hope that some of you might be able to make it out.

Kyle

Damn ...that's one place I wanted to dive before moving away from Atlanta.

Enjoy your dive(s)

I have finals monday so can't make it. Have fun though.

I'll be there...will be doing single on either a steel plate (if Kraken can get one that quick) or on the aluminum one I have already.

Mike and I are going to hit WBP tomorrow instead of jocassee due to my stupidity. I forgot that I have dinner plans with my pops and I want to make sure that im back in time. Also thought it might be better to try out our new gear in a spot we both know, so if anyone else wants to meet us at WBP tomorrow morning we will be their at 10:00 at mask cove.

Well we ended up at Lake Lanier at Mask Cove (now it is mask and knife cove, got my clip on folding backup knife) sinve Kyle had to leave early for dinner with his Dad.

We did an inital how are things hanging dive just tooling around to about 60 feet to check out the equipment. I dove my aluminum backplate with a single and my new regulators the Oceanic Alpha 7's, set up for a single tank. I also used my gaiters for the first time, buoyancy control is much better! Other than I was a little light (had to pick up a couple of rocks at 500 punds in thetank to stay down at the end of the dive)

Dive two we followed the line out from near the platform into 80 foot of water and back. I added in some weight and had no issues for the entire dive.

It was a little windy the first dive, but calmed down the second, all in all another great winters day diving... (well. I guess fall since winter doesn't really start until Dec 22...)

Let me know when Mask cove get a set of doubles. I'll put my search & recovery training to practice:eyebrow: . Just Kidding with ya! Divers cove took a 3 pound hard weight once but it was because it was used to anchor the dive flag and got dropped when I recovered the flag at then end of the day.

Mike, How was temp / vis?

Edit...And I lost my compas at Mask cove! (sorry Kyle, I just had to throw that in there, good find on the compass)

Had a great time today at the lake, thanks Mike for joining me today, it was a blast. Mike looked good in his new rig on the second dive after he made some modifications. I was real pleased with my new BC also, it has a few things that need adjusting, but nothing that I can't fix. I found out another thing today that im not happy with.....Im Fat. My 7mm doesn't fit me very well anymore, so I think its time to get a dry suit...well thats my excuse. Wish some of you other guys could have come out and joined us, but I guess we'll see you at New Years. Oh one other thing mike didn't mention. The viz was better above 60', once you got down below 60' the viz went to 3-5'. Above that the viz was a good 10-12', and it was coooooold. See you guys on the next one.
