ON-CAMERA CONTENT CREATOR
ABOUT BACKSCATTER
Established in 1994 and headquartered on historic Cannery Row in Monterey, California only a few paces from the water, Backscatter is the largest underwater imaging retailer in the world. Our small, tight-knit crew are all divers, photographers, and fervent champions of ocean conservation. We are seeking a passionate creator to add to our content creation team. JOB DESCRIPTION
The ON-CAMERA CONTENT CREATOR must be an inspired underwater image maker that is also comfortable on camera. The CONTENT CREATOR will script, shoot, appear on camera, and edit complete videos and articles on a weekly basis with full support from the in-house Backscatter team and be responsible for weekly video output.
ON-SITE + TRAVEL
This is a full-time position that requires the CONTENT CREATOR to be based in Monterey, California and on-site daily for content creation. The CONTENT CREATOR must also be available to travel for international events and dive trips.
DIVING SKILL REQUIREMENTS
The CONTENT CREATOR must be an advanced scuba diver with nitrox and preferably divemaster or instructor ratings. Applicants will be required to provide diving history data and references.
PHOTO/VIDEO SKILL REQUIREMENTS
The CONTENT CREATOR will need to show significant knowledge and interest in underwater photography and video production with example clips and galleries.

WHO SHOULD APPLY
Backscatter will only consider applicants with a long-term career interest in underwater imaging. Applicants must be eligible to work in the USA.
TRIAL PERIOD
A top candidate will be hosted in Monterey, California for a multi-week trial period.
SALARY
Pay will be based on previous experience and how your skills meet or exceed our expectations. Payment range will be $50K-$70K.
