I am currently in Hainan China researching dive areas, and feasbility study to open dive shop and guide service for Western customers. So far things are very encourging, but I have learned that you must stay away from the bays, which are polluted. Thier are some very nice corral reefs here that are still entact, But some areas have been stripped clean of thier coral, just like Hawaii. But the good news is most Chinese can not swim and are afraid of the water. So the deeper areas are still entact. Infrastructure here is very poor, and most dives are set up for the first timers. So there is great opportunity here if you can wade through the confusion. Has anyone dove Hainan, if you have let me know your opinion. thanks jeff.
