Hi Everybody~
Jarrod Jablonski, lead exploration diver of the Woodville Karst Plain
Project, will be doing a local presentation on their most recent
exploration efforts of the Wakulla Springs Cave System, which is located
in Northern Florida. Jarrod is one of the world's foremost cave
explorers, and has been working to map the underwater cave systems in
Florida for research and scientific purposes for well over a decade. He
is also responsible for creating the DIR system of diving, and is the
founder of GUE. He dives and teaches all over the world, when he is not
actively exploring caves or wrecks.
Jarrod and his team have been extremely active over the past 6 weeks in
Florida, as site conditions in the cave system have finally allowed for
extensive exploration after 6 years of marginal conditions. We will be
among the very first to hear of the new discoveries and adventures
encountered by the WKPP.
This will be an informal event following a day of diving, and will
afford plenty of time for socializing, eating dinner, and asking
questions of Jarrod.
Here are the details.
When: Sat, July 15th, 5pm - 9:30pm
Where: Buzzard's Backyard BBQ Grill, 2030 N. Fremont St., Monterey, CA
93940 ph# (831) 801-4364 (next to the Travel Lodge)
What are we eating?: Buffet style BBQ
Cost: price for dinner ranges from $12 to $20, depending on your appetite
What time is the actual presentation: Most likely 6pm
This presentation is being hosted by Bay Area Underwater Explorers
(www.baue.org), and
is free to the diving public (however you are responsible for paying for
your meal). Please join us in welcoming Jarrod Jablonski to Northern
California.
If you would like to attend, please RSVP to me, Susan Bird, at:
