the wife and I are heading to Jamaica Ocho Rios. What is the water temp right now? what do most people use for exposure protection? I was planning on a 3 mil full wetsuit but I don't want to be cold or overheated either?

Water temps are 79-81 degrees from the surface down to 80'. I handle cold well, so I dive in shorts & a "T".

If diving with Sandels Ocho, say Hi to Magnum from Big T.

I lived in Ocho Rios years ago working in watersports, and spent part of my time teaching scuba at what became Sandals Dunn's River, which is now Jewel Dunn's River. I still get to Jamaica to dive regularly. What you need for a wet suits depends on many factors such as your tolerance to cold, how big you are, time of year, and how much experience you have (the more you dive the colder you get). While I see many people dive in Jamaica in just a t-shirt and shorts, I always wear at least a 3 mm Long sleeve jacket, and in the winter will even wear more than that.
