I can still remember the good old days when Pifi warned us all about the crime problems in Bonaire. Things seem rather dull now. :depressed:

Since A certain someone "who will not be named" is the only person I have ever put on ignore - I can't really tell a difference.

I have only been to Bonaire once and wasn't personally affected by crime there, but if you go to Bonaire, you will be robbed, raped, buggered, stabbed, murdered and fleeced. The only people saying Bonaire is safe are people who own property they are trying to rent.
BDSC - does that help bring back some of the good times?

It's been nice without PIFI. It became such downer listening to his rants.
Heading back to Bonaire to enjoy the peace & tranquility above and below the sea
on Xmas. Life is Good, but it's better in Bonaire.

So I take it you guys all own rental property there...?

:)

No kidding. Bonaire has great diving, but the island itself is ugly. I have visited Bonaire each of the last 5 years... I hate the petty thievery that goes on, and de facto supporting a community that allows such behavior. But, as I said, great diving.

I don't own any property but do like the island. I've been maybe 8 or 9 times. Lost count really. So far in all those trips I never had any problems at all with crime. The total diving freedom offered by Bonaire is hard to beat. Lots or great places to stay at all price points along with many good restaurants makes it one of the top Caribbean destinations. I just wish another of the large airlines would pick up that route from the US. Like US Air or maybe American. I think they'd fill it up.

PUHLEESE...Do we really need his rantings & ruinations? Sort of reminded me of the old 45's when the needle was stuck in a groove.

Go enjoy Bonaire & all she has to offer. It's not for nothing that the license plates say "divers paradise". We've been going back & forth now for some 25 years and it never gets old for us! Next trip end of Feb and honestly can't wait to return!
