We usually don't get rainbows in Bennington because we are in a valley. The wind is blowing all the fall colored leaves off the trees.
The merchants don't like that because it will hurt the tourist count.:)

Very nice.
I like your town.
I drive through on my way to Mt. Snow, usually only have time to stop for gas.
It's got to be cool, being the home of Hemmings.

Yes, do you stop at the old Hemming Gas Station on Main St?

Our company just got the contract to install a new heating and air conditioning system in that building for Hemmings. They are completely remodeling it. Also the Bennington Battle Monument will now be lit at night starting on Veterans Day

I always drive by it. But it's usually closed.
Late Friday night and Sunday night on the way home.
It's a 4-6 hour drive for me to Mt. Snow, long drive for a weekend.
I'll be going up to Stratton this season.

I'd love to stop in thier museum, after the remodel I suppose.

I have the motor news right here...
I'm looking for a '53 Skylark... lets see...
There's only one this month.
Ouch, $65k for a body off resoration.
I guess I'll be waiting for the never been restored kinda beat up needs a lot of work one.
Still about $25k.

So, do you live in a historic house?

Yes we live on Main St. just west of Hemmings. As a matter of fact Hemmings rents a garage on my back property to store some of thier cars.

Our house was built around 1895 as near as we could tell. It was orginally built as a boarding house by a couple of spinster sisters named Adams. They rented rooms to lumber buyers who dealt with the Dewey Lumber Company. (Now the Rescue Squad and Adelphia Cable.)
