For the last couple of hours I haven't been able to click on the up-arrows to collapse the various sections of the forums I don't want to see. The arrow to collapse the sidebar on the right side of the page has gone missing too.

As Emily Litella used to say, "Nevermind". I had turned off Javascript in Safari on a suggestion from the Apple support regarding another problem, and that was the cause of the problem here.
Yes. That would do it.
